Increased sales of Pro Evolution Soccer
Soccer fans shared their love and money between two franchises that currently prevail in the beautiful game: Pro Evolution Soccer from Konami and FIFA, Electronic Arts.
Both are in constant dispute over the attention of users, and increasingly are doing more to try to become the number one.
In the case of Pro Evolution Soccer, known as PES, Konami announced that the saga as a whole has exceeded 68.8 million units sold worldwide.
The figure is spectacular, and it has been revealed as part of the presentation of the company’s financial results for the three quarters of 2010 that ended last December 31 last year.
Comparing sales to the same period in 2009, sales were down 1.8% to 188.308 million yen, while profits have fallen by 9.5% to 9.615 million yen.
The company said it sold 18.49 million games in the nine-month study, with well distributed copies among Japan, Europe and the United States. Of these 6.56 million total sales were for football games, while the Metal Gear saga has been placed at 1.68 million units.
